Compliance Specialist

CCCU is looking for a talented Compliance Specialist who will be responsible for assisting the credit union's compliance with applicable rules and regulations while ensuring member service is delivered. You will also assist with risk management and loss prevention practices to protect the credit union and its members from undue risk.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with all areas of the credit union to ensure compliance with procedures, policy, rules, and regulations.
- Provide assistance with compliance inquiries. Analyze the impact of new or updated rules and regulations that may impact the credit union and the implementation of necessary changes.
- Respond to requests for member information as appropriate.
- Maintain a working knowledge of special deposit account types. This includes, but is not limited to funds held by trusts, representative payees, custodians, deceased owners and Uniform Transfer to Minors.
- Assist in coordinating auditor and examiner information requests.
- Identify areas of opportunity or training based on report findings, audits, examinations, and observations. Work with departments to develop training needs or procedural enhancements.
- Assist in vendor due diligence for new and existing vendors.
- Review disclosures, documents, marketing materials and other items for compliance.
- Conduct fraud research and complete applicable reporting.
- Complete special projects, analysis, research as may be requested by manager.
- Follow Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policies and procedures as they relate to this position.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- College degree, or 3-5 years credit union or banking experience preferred
- Familiarity with special deposit account types including but not limited to trusts, IRAs, Representative Payee, UTMA, and custodial accounts preferred.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Understanding of basic compliance topics and how they affect the credit union.
- Excellent organizational, customer service and communication skills
